Summer Art Workshop Artist Reception
September 27, 2008 One of the highlights of the Summer Art Workshop (SAW) was the Artist’s Reception held at the Miami Middletown Downtown Facility in the Art Central District. The exhibit included almost 100 pieces of art created during the classes. Students chose the work that they wanted to be shown, which represented the wide range of media & projects. The students in attendance brought family & friends to view their work. There were several art related projects to make the day of the reception. This allowed the students to create something with their families and show off techniques they had learned over the summer. These projects were lead by volunteer Aides from the SAW. Several of the SAW instructors were also present to visit with the children & their guests. Once again, the ACF would like to thank the Middletown Community Foundation, Miami Middletown Downtown & Perry Thatcher for their generous support of this program. The Summer Art Workshops would not have been possible without it.
